The Samarpan
The Samarpan
समर्पणEvery note, laid down as an offering — not made to be kept, but to be given away.
Samarpan is a word that resists a single translation. It is surrender, yes — but not the surrender of defeat. It is the surrender of a devotee placing a flower at the feet of the divine, holding nothing back, expecting nothing in return. That is the spirit this album was built inside of: songs written not to impress, but to give.
This body of work carries months of quiet mornings, long silences, and the kind of listening that happens before a single note is played. It is devotional at its core, but it speaks in a language that reaches beyond any one tradition — the language of longing, gratitude, and letting go.
On the Name
To offer something fully — a prayer, a song, a piece of oneself — without measuring what comes back, is samarpan. This album is named for that act. It is not a collection of songs so much as a series of offerings, each one set down at the altar of whoever is willing to listen.
